Introducing the Fanfiction page!

Today, because I had some time to spare, I organized the blog so there is now a page with links to my fanfiction, all in one place. Go ahead and click the 'Fanfiction' Link in the Nav-bar. More to come so keep checking up there.

Maybe later I'll add a Fanart page as well but that'll take some time.

Best episodes? (cont.)

So, I'm lazy, as I've already said but I do really want to post here as much as possible so, instead of carrying on the best episodes of the monkees with a long list, there's going to be a post for each episode I like. They won't appear in any order, just come up as I think of them.

And today's is:

Hillbilly Honeymoon (a.k.a. "Double Barrel Shotgun Wedding")

This episode is actually quite funny. I adore Micky's impression of Ellie-May, Davy being wimpy, Ellie-May falling for all the Monkees without knowing their name. I mean, you have to watch it but look out for these bits as well as the Monkees teaching Jud what a fork is used for. Basically, the plot line for this episode is that the Monkees end up in a town with two feuding families ready to shoot up anyone who passes the line to one of the sides. Davy is sent to stay on the line and get help only a young girl, Ellie-May tugs him off and her father tries to get them two to marry.

Four little monkees jumping on the bed

While they may not be jumping, all four monkees are shaking a bed in this picture!
Just thought it needed to be shared.
Also, there is something different about Davy in the episode 'A coffin too frequent.' I can't work out what it is but maybe my (two) readers could help. He just looks different. Here's a picture of him in the episode:

Maybe it's just me.

Anyway, Hi you lot. I didn't post yesterday because I'm so lazy but I was watching a few Monkees episodes (as I do every night) and every time my sister and I see 'A coffin too frequent' which is actually a pretty good episode, we can't work out why Davy looks different. We're not saying that we don't like it, it's just playing on my mind.

Still, see ya tomorrow!

Two faithful readers

So, I've got something wrong in one of my other posts.
I have two faithful readers. I've mentioned Meme several times but I didn't know that she checks my blog quite frequently and I just wanted to thank both her and Ilsa who told me she checks here almost everyday!
I love you two.

But aside from that, I'd just like to highlight a few songs that after going on holiday, I learnt and now really like. I'll also attach links so you can enjoy them.

  • I don't think you know me (Peter's version is my favourite but I'll attach all three versions) Micky's Peter's Mike's
So I knew The kind of girl I could love before but it really stuck in my mind. Neither me nor my dad or sister could get it out of our brains. I adore all of these songs!

Albums

So, as I said, I have been away and all I've listened to, music-wise, is the Monkees and a few posts ago, I showed you lot the presents that my dad brought me; all their albums so how about I put them into order of my favourites?

1: Meet the Monkees
Their first album has to be my favourite. I know all of the songs on it, I only skip two (shame on me) and all the songs on it are so much fun. So what if, at the time, they didn't play their own music? Nobody cared except for music snobs and teens these days who've only heard I'm a believer because of Shrek. And by the way DAD, I don't care if Mike didn't play his guitar at the start (although, I'm pretty sure he could.)

2: Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones LTD.

So, I'm actually writing this while listening to this album. Some of their best songs like Pleasant Valley Sunday, The door into summer and What am I Doing Hanging 'round (Personal favourites) feature on this album and I can't help screaming every time What am I Doing Hanging 'round comes on. These songs make me so happy, hence why it's second on this list.

3: Headquarters

Famous for having the Monkees playing their own instruments and their own music, I love this one too. It's really difficult to choose, however, which should take this place, More of the Monkees or Headquarters. But Headquarters has to take it. I guess its because of the epic songs on it, the fact that we hear Mike more vocally and because its all them (apart from those acting under their supervision)
Also, I love No Time! Such a fun song

4: More of the Monkees

'She' may not be one of their best songs (personal opinion) but I never skip it (or at least, rarely)
Most of the other songs on this album, I really like. It's a bit like my reason for putting Meet the Monkees first, except, there are more songs I don't like on this one than on the first (Auntie Grizelda, I'm looking at you)
Still, I'm a Believer always lifts my spirits.

5: The birds, the bees and the Monkees

Unfortunately, this is one that I dislike, not mostly because of the songs but I only know three of them. The others I've heard haven't exactly stuck in my head like those on other albums.

So there are the Monkees albums in order of my favourites.
Thanks for reading
