Here's a stupid cause for celebration, I've been posting here for a whole week!
For those who have been reading from the start, thank you my friends.
For those who will in the future, I'll see you here soon.
And on another note, my dad brought me and my sister such an epic present.
All the Monkees albums on CD!
Thank you so much!
Fangirls and Fanboys alike, I welcome you to a blog for the Monkees, a band that I hope you appreciate as much as I do. Most of this will be filled to the brim of fan art, pictures and Fan Fiction about the Monkees of which I have made or, if you get in touch with me, I'd be happy to display your work too.

Four pictures
Here's four pictures that I have to say, I'm quite proud of as they took me ages.
Hope you like them!
So, this one was meant to be Micky but it failed miserably.
Mr Davy Jones, reasonable proud of this one.
So, I love this one of Peter. He's half smiling half beckoning you to his dressing room.
Mike looks more like the actor who played him in 'Daydream Believer' TV movie but it's not bad right!
Best Episodes?
Today at school, one of my friends told me they watched the Monkees!
She loved it and I was ecstatic to here that she really had taken an interest in something that I am passionate about.
The only thing was, she only watched one episode because she didn't know the good ones.
While I am tempted to say they're all good, that wouldn't be entirely true so here's a list of my top five: (please leave comments telling me your favourites as well!)
Number 5: Monkee vs machine

Number 5: Monkee vs machine
This episode, I thought, was quite funny. Seeing Peter being outwitted by a machine then Mike being deemed a genius, the toy factory and the boomerang thing. But what I think is one of the best things about the episode is that we get to see Micky, Peter and Davy dressed in drag. It's a bit weird how well they suit women's clothes, don't you think?
Number 4: The Chaperone
After you see this episode, you will never forget Mrs Arcadian, Aka Micky in a dress, blond wig and a fan to hide his face. He must care about Davy a lot to have to go through this and all so Davy can get a girl. I mean he falls in love almost every episode, he couldn't have just let this one go? Poor Micky even gets hit on by Mr Babbit, their landlord.
Number 3: Dance Monkee Dance
If this cute Torklenz dance practice isn't enough to make you want to see this just so you have inspiration for fanfiction then would the only Nez kiss in the series interest you?
Number 2: Too Many Girls
DAVY! Too many girls and such little time. How does Davy do it? He seems to attract them in this episode all about a woman trying to make her daughter famous but using Davy in all his beauty and talent. Needless to say, it doesn't turn out so well. I do like this episode, even just for the first scene. It's really funny.
Number 1: Fairy Tale
What can you hate about this episode? It goes completely off the series and onto a very attractive looking Mike dressed as a princess with Peter having to be his/her knight in shining armor. Honestly one of the funniest and most entertaining episodes ever. Mike deserves a prize for his wonderful (if slightly annoying) portrayal of princess Gwen.
So there you go, five of my personal favourite episodes of the Monkees. I might be back with five others as I had a pretty long list and had to narrow it down but I'll leave that for a day when I can't think of anything else to do. Let me know of your favourites in the comments!

Laugh... Because I'm not that funny...
Hey ya! How's everybody?
I hope you're having a good day all of you (and if you weren't I hope the picture makes you feel better)
I thought I might post these pictures that were inspired by some stuff I saw on Naked Persimmon tumblr blog.
They're not so funny but boy are they fun to think of!
So, I'm quite proud of the next two

Ilsa, I hope you like my blog
Courtney, I hope you're ok!
Here's something to make you feel better, all the Monkees in drag:
Who looks the best?

Saturday's Child
So, for a bit of fun, I checked out how the Monkees themselves fared in their song Saturday's child. I'm not sure if anyone else has done this but I wanted to have a go because I wondered what it might say about them.
Micky Dolanz- March 8, 1945 which was a Thursday.
Apparently, he's going to break your heart, which is disappointing but maybe fitting as he is on wife number three. Does anyone else think this might be a bit inaccurate? I hope so
Peter Tork- February 13, 1942 which was a Friday
So he likes the good life and he'll take you for a ride. Well, from what we've gathered about his pretty adventurous sex life, it sounds as though he likes a 'good' life. And the ride bit, we could make plenty of innuendos about that but I'll leave that to you. I'm sure it really means more like the one night stand sort of thing so, probably correct... but all of the Monkees had their fair share I'm sure.
Davy Jones- 30 December 1945 which was a Sunday
He wants to be your bride... hmmm.
Inaccurate gender and I haven't read into this so much so I'm going to say it sounds inaccurate. Also, given the three wives as well and the lady's man character he was given in the Monkees TV show, being a bride- or getting married- doesn't seem like his motivation.
Mike Nesmith- December 30, 1942 which was a Wednesday
So, you live your life apart now.
Now, I'd say, as sad as it is, everything that happened with the two women pregnant at the same time, you'd expect someone to leave him after that. Phyllis, I've no idea how you ever stayed with him after that. Admirable in many ways.
But on a happier note, I'd say that this was actually quite fun. I'll have to think so of other things like this in the future. If anyone is reading this, tell me what you think about these.
(remember, this is just a song and also, my interpretation. I haven't done so much research into it so...)

I've had my rant
I've had my moan, maybe I should move on from the Beach Boys vs The Monkees thing that's going on right now and treat you lot to more fan art.
I get really bored during the day so you've ended up with two weird doodles that I hope you'll enjoy.

Weird moment between the Monkees when Micky decided he was going to dress up again and Peter brought him flowers because he kind of likes it. Torklenz moments |
Mike and his Nudie suit. When I first saw it, the first thing running through my head was 'What is that?' I've grown to love it though. He does look very handsome (if a little crazy) in it.
Anyone Else?
That's two more people who've today to tell me that the Beach Boys are better than the Monkees!
Anyone else?
As I said before, I haven't a problem with liking other music and I do actually like the Beach Boys too but WOW. The two people today, I really like (as in like like *wink wink*) and it was kind of disappointing to hear them say that, while they do like the music, its too pop-y or manufactured. I am well aware of that fact but I love them all the same just like I still love you two who told me that xx
Still, are you having a good day?
Would a picture of our lovely Mike Nesmith biting his lip brighten it a little more?

Listen to the Band!
This post is graciously dedicated to the teacher that told me today the Beach Boys are better than the Monkees.
While I am never one to say 'this music is bad, this is good' and I do like the Beach Boys as well, what really got me was when I stated that all of the Monkees are good looking, she told me it was debatable.
I mean, debatable?
Again, like music, beauty is one of those things, everyone likes something different. It's relative to the individual but...
I feel like I must defend my band!
Here is some proof, not that I think you need any, that these four men are pretty gorgeous:
I made this GIF, quite proud of it. |

Link and a shout out!
So, I'm trying to put a post here every day (or more if I find something that would be worth posting) and here is one today. I wrote a fan fiction that you might enjoy (provided you like mike/davy and peter/micky) It's called Someone to Gain but its unfinished so, hold on if you want to read the entire thing.
Title: Someone to gain
Pairing: Mike/Davy Micky/Peter
Summary:
Davy falls in love
Mike is acting weird
and Micky and Peter are not as discrete as they think they are.
I also would like to say hello to a good friend who said she might visit the site today!
Shout out to MeMe! I hope you enjoy my blog.
My first reader, how should we celebrate?
Here's a picture of Mike snogging a girl's face off in the film 'Head'
How's that for a celebration?

Hey Hey more Monkees Fan art
Hey Hey fellas! Here's a few drawings; two with an extra slash-y one at the end. I drew these on paper and took pictures on my phone so they're not great quality, hope you like them.
I have some strange obsession with drawing the pre-fab four as girls. from left to right; Mike, Micky, Peter, Davy |
Fancy a bit of Mike? Because I do ;) |
And the not-so-slash-y as you were hoping Mike and Davy |
A GIF I might have Stolen
I know that there is not anyone out there to read this but who says I can't post something everyday for myself, eh?
My sister and I are hug fans of the Monkees and hands up who is on the end of a sibling who always gets first pick of everything! Not that I would be complaining about the two Monkees I am left with because, I'm certainly not picky when it comes to that but it doesn't seem much fair that she gets full custody of Mike, my favourite if I was forced to pick. Still, anyone would be more than happy to have Davy and Peter all to themselves.
So I leave you with a GIF today that might or might not have been stolen from that fantastic site Naked Persimmon. I love you guys over there!

And as they did say on Naked Persimmon, it looks as though he's telling us to take off our clothes. |
